Hormone Replacement Therapy better known as menopausal hormone therapy or premenopausal hormone therapy, is a form of hormone therapy that is used to effectively treat the symptoms which are associated with female menopause. The symptoms of these are inclusive of hot flashes, vaginal atrophy, accelerated skin aging, vaginal dryness, along with diminished muscle mass, bone density loss. This is also responsible for loss in level of sex hormone which occur during menopause.
The estrogens and progestogens are the main hormonal medications which are used in HRT to a condition called menopause which is a common phenomenon amongst women. Progestogen is specifically added to the estrogen regimens at the time when the uterus is still present. The hormone replacement therapy medicines are present in different variants.
