About Duonase Nasal Spray

Duonase is a medicated nasal spray used to treat the symptoms of asthma and allergies. The medication works by lowering the effects of histamines that occur naturally. Histamines cause symptoms such itching, runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. The active ingredients in Duonase Nasal Spray are azelastine hcl, fluticasone propionate bp.
Duonase is usually prescribed to treat the indications of asthma or to prevent symptoms caused by naturally occurring histamines; but your doctor may prescribe Duonase for other conditions not listed here.

How to use

Duonase is a nasal spray prescribed to treat the symptoms of asthma and allergies. The usual prescribed dosage is twice a day in each nostril. Follow your doctor's instructions and read the directions on the prescription label and the enclosed patient leaflet. If you are unsure, ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain the instructions if you do not understand. Use Duonase exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use more often than prescribed by your doctor.

Before using Duonase for the first time, replace the child-resistant screw cap with the pump unit. Point the pump unit away from your body and prime the pump with four sprays or until a fine mist appears. If more than 2 days have gone by since your nasal spray was used, the pump must be primed with two sprays or until a fine mist appears.

Once the pump is primed and ready for use, gently blow your nose to remove any mucus or blockage. Insert the medication spray nozzle into your nostril by positioning it directly into the nostril. Squeeze the other nostril closed with your finger and keep your head straight, do not tip your head back while spraying the medication into the nostril. Pump the spray and inhale slowly at the same time. Spray the appropriate dosage of Duonase as instructed by your doctor. Clean the spray nozzle properly after each use. Don’t sneeze or blow your nose immediately after using the medication.
